We are members of the Whiteside Action Group and fully support the submissions sent to your Department from WAG group.

We live on  the corner of Whiteside Street and Parklands Road and are concerned about the proposed traffic and street alterations  for this area.  Our local streets are still being choked with parked cars before and after parking restrictions on Epping Road.  Even though Whiteside Street has no exit onto Epping Road, the rat runners still exit illegally onto Epping Road.   We have found that the majority of traffic congestion is the lack of supplied parking for the Macquarie Park  and Optus Industrial  area.  One has only  to listen to the morning and afternoon traffic reports to know that our area is inundated with traffic chaos, sometimes taking 1/4 hour to get onto the main roads.

As North Ryde is an area  affected by high condensation and mould, if this development goes through, the houses behind the development would be affected by lack of sunshine and any breezes.

Ryde Council has always assured this area southside of Epping Highway was to be low-rise residential housing .  Any housing being built in this area at this time has to be in accordance with the Council's requirements so why not this area.   We note that 680 residential units at Morling College site on Herring Road and 7 residential buildings 2-22 storeys in height at Stamford Hotel site on cnr Herring and Epping Roads, new accommodation for some 5000 students as part of Macquarie Uni redevelopment and 3100 proposed new residential units as part ot the North Ryde Station Precinct.  Meeting housing demand is an important factor, but not the only consideration .   We will have enough new housing developments in our area as it is.

We have been residents of this area for over 40 years and have seen many developments around us that we have not been able to have a say in, but as again we have been given chance to have our say in this matter and we still strongly oppose this new development.

We have not donated or contributed to any political party.
