Attention: Mr David Rohloff.
Dear Sir,
I wish to reiterate my objection to MP10_0165,
Whiteside Street & David Avenue in its current
reincarnation, (or any previous plans). High-rise
development at this site or anywhere West of Epping
Road North Ryde or Marsfield is strongly opposed. The current
zoning permits development which is compatible with the
thousands of existing dwellings and other structures in the
area and any deviation from the height restrictions currently
in force will degrade seriously the value of these and the
amenity of this local Ryde City community. Furthermore, the
proposal is not even in conformity with Ryde DLEP 2011.
The proposal will add considerable traffic and further
congestion to the area which is already incapable of handling
the contributions of Macquarie Park workers' vehicles and
commuter traffic which bypasses Lane Cove Road and Epping
Road by using our local residential streets.
There are a few "knock down" properties in the area where
owners may benefit financially in the short term from
conversion to high - rise development but the majority of
this area contains modern dwellings where the owners and
occupants have an expectation of continuity of value, amenity
and compatible development in the surrounding streets to
support those factors.
Please ensure that the present height restriction are upheld
and reject this proposal in its current form.
